Vera and Gareth’s wedding at Huntsham court in Devon oozed old fashioned movie style glamour, I absolutely loved shooting this wedding. My first meeting with Vera and Gareth was a suitably grand affair with a breakfast meeting at Bovey castle I instantly warmed to Vera and Gareth’s friendly nature and their love of food – all meetings should be breakfast meetings, it was such a lovely way to meet them and break the ice a little. We chatted all things wed related and not wed related and I really got a feel for their day.
I knew from the breakfast meeting this wedding was going to be one very stylish affair – Gareth stated that it was Black tie wedding and had sent that out with the invites. I love that, make it glamorous and give people a dress code, it makes it fun, stylish and easy to organise – I stupidly asked if I need to come in black tie – obvs not as I am the photog! ha ha!! I usually ask a few hum dingers at Pre wed meetings, It’s a shyness/nerves thing. Much happier behind the camera.
Anyway, enough of me – Back to this gorgeous wedding at the very grand old estate of Huntsham court- Love this venue, what a gorgeous old house to get married in and very fitting for Gareth and Vera and their friends and family. The grounds and weather that day were perfect for guests to just mill around looking stylish and drinking pimms. Croquet was set up on the lawns and the kids played Jenga and had bubbles- it just flowed perfectly and gave me the time to do my thing- which is capture relaxed family pictures as they unfold throughout the day. The food was a BIG part of the day as its something the couple love todo together – Dartmoor kitchen did not disappoint, a lovely waitress followed with the canapés where ever Vera and Gareth were being photographed.
