The German / English wedding of Vicki and Bertram

Bovey castle is the most glorious venue in the very picturesque valley in the Dartmoor National park. I live really close by and am always delighted and inspired when I am photographing at Bovey castle-it has a magical quality. I was delighted to be booked by Bertram and Vicki to cover their German/English wedding in July. Firstly we had a a spectacular day at postbridge for a pre wedding shoot which really helped me get to know them as a couple and learn all about the different customs that a German wedding entails. I love my job and especially when you get to learn how different each nation celebrates a wedding.

One particular little custom I loved was they make a magazine about the couple’s life up until the wedding, the quality and thought that had gone into this German tradition was exceptional.

The buildings at Bovey Castle are grandiose and the grounds have so many hidden spots that are perfect for groups and couple portraits. The bridal suite was perfect for the getting ready pictures with the lovely Rebecca from rebecca@weddinghair . She  manages to do a seamless and wonderful job of hair and makeup whilst being super nice and friendly addition to the wed team on the morning of the wedding, which is always needed:)
