Rob and Clare’s Bridwell park wedding last summer was spectacular, grand, yet personal as well. A well planned and executed summer wedding and such a warm and friendly wedding group. They made me and Cara, my second shooter, feel so welcome. Right from the start they were helpful and easy to work with, I always find I take my best shots when the couple are open and warm and Clare and Rob are as was the whole family. Military precision planning also helped this wedding to be such a success. The best weddings, in my opinion are all about the planning and preparation- so on the day there was no stressing and the day can run smoothly. It did, it was fantastic.
Rob is in the Military so they were some seriously dashing ceremonial uniforms, lots of swords, one awesome sword arch and some beautiful well heeled guests a mingling. We were spoilt for choice on backdrops, locations and people. A photographers dream.
The sun shone on this happy June day last year and Clare looked radiant as she descended the red staircase of the grand Bridwell park, in her exquisite wedding dress from Paverley Bridal. Bridwell park is the residence of Lord Ivar Mountbatten and his family during the week and it’s interior is stunning as a wedding venue and a home.
The personal feel to the house gave it an edge on other wedding venues. It felt warm yet grand and like a home, just a ridiculously grand home, with a red staircase and beautiful artwork everywhere. I do love shooting weddings in grand country homes, even the loo was so pretty!
Bridwell park is a georgian country home set in glorious Devonshire countryside with its own delightful little chapel, a lake and a herd of deer. How grand!
I will look forward to more weddings at this beautiful venue.
